Tips For Crispy Air Fryer Chicken Thighs
- Wipe the chicken pieces with a napkin or paper towel before adding the seasonings to them.
- Arrange the pieces in a single layer evenly.
- Don't overcrowd the basket. Make in batches if required for perfect crispy chicken thighs.
- Marinate the chicken for 10 - 15 minutes before air frying. This will add flavor and keep the chicken moist even at high temperatures like 400F.
- Flipping is not necessary though and is a personal preference. I do flip them halfway.
- Preheat the air fryer since the uniform hot air makes them crispier and takes 2 - 3 minutes lesser in cooking time.
- Don't overcook the chicken at the internal temperature of 165 F.

It takes 15 - 20 minutes at 400F to cook the boneless chicken thighs (skinless) in the air fryer, till the internal temperature is 165F with a meat thermometer.
Preheat the air fryer to 400F for 3 minutes. At the same temperature cook the boneless skinless chicken thighs for 15 minutes. For extra doneness/ crisp try 3 - 5 minutes more. At a lesser temperature like 360F will require them to cook for longer like 25 - 30 minutes.
Normally chicken thighs won't be rubbery when cooked in the air fryer for the said timing and temperature. Don't overcook the chicken thigh more than the internal temperature of 165 F. Also make sure to rub them with oil while marinating with spices or spray cooking oil in halfway. Cooking for a longer time makes the pieces dry, making them rubbery.
